About Our Past Events
The global coronavirus pandemic has already left a significant mark on college and university operations—requiring rapid, dramatic change across almost every unit on campus, and raising serious questions about financial sustainability over the next year. As institutional leaders continue to grapple with their new budget realities, they are identifying further efficiencies, should they be needed. Part of this exploration has been to move beyond traditional administrative cost saving opportunities that, for the most part, have already been made to take a harder look at academic cost containment.
During this interactive roundtable with EAB experts and institutional leaders at peer institutions, attendees will learn about and discuss:
- Strategies to create instructional economies of scale such as consolidating underfilled sections, eliminating low-enrollment courses, or canceling faculty course releases
- Structural changes to academic programming through program consolidation or closure, early retirement incentives and other reductions in faculty within the bounds of institutional policies
- Change leadership tactics for engaging faculty as productive partners in difficult budget decisions
