Summary This report explores the process of creating and implementing facilities master plans at public school districts, including the prioritization processes and funding mechanisms employed by profiled districts. The report also describes strategies to collect feedback and gain support for the facilities master plan from community members throughout the development of the plan. Key observations from our research 1. Identify the district’s facilities needs prior to launching the facilities master planning process. 2. Top facilities priorities at profiled districts include increasing enrollment capacity and addressing safety concerns. 3. Include the community in the prioritization process to demonstrate commitment to community input. 4. Update the facilities master plan often to account for changing needs of the district. 5.
