Participate in EAB’s Teacher Morale collaborative to focus your efforts and make progress on teacher morale initiatives through a series of guided workshops with peers.

As students nationwide try to move forward from 18 months of continuous disruptions to their education, they need one resource more than ever: engaged, effective teachers. But recent surveys show that 7 in 10 teachers are suffering from low morale and don’t feel able to bring their best work to the classroom.

With pandemic recovery efforts on the line, raising teacher morale should be at the top of every district’s agenda in 2022. EAB is committed to making this goal a reality.

EAB researchers have worked with leading companies across multiple industries to unlock what truly moves the needle on employee morale, then worked with district leaders nationwide to apply those insights to the unique context of public education.

About the collaborative

EAB experts will guide a cohort of leaders from 30 districts through the implementation of EAB’s Teacher Morale Diagnostic and systematic solutions for raising teacher morale.

Successfully implement teacher morale initiatives through expert-guided workshops

  1. Diagnose why morale is low by collecting consistent qualitative and quantitative teacher input

Participants will use EAB’s morale diagnosis instruments to better understand their biggest threats to morale at any given time

  2. Prioritize threats and possible remedies to low morale

The prioritization matrix will help district leaders prioritize one or two root causes of morale and plan communication timelines and next steps in the feedback loop

  3. Involve teachers in co-designing solutions by lowering participation barriers

Use EAB’s menu of proven morale-improvement strategies to ideate and refine solutions with teachers, without asking too much of their time

Success in improving teacher morale is not defined by a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of trying to improve morale in reaction to every new challenge a district or teachers face, districts need to make a sustained investment in improving working conditions for teachers to bolster school and district effectiveness. By adopting an integrated morale feedback loop, districts will achieve reliably high teacher morale and improve their districts’ ability to achieve its ever-expanding goals.
