Agenda Highlights

Generative AI and the Future of Learning

Generative AI is officially everywhere—students, teachers, and staff are not only using it daily, but actively shaping its evolution. District leaders face a critical decision: hesitate too long to control their own AI narrative, and the district risks detrimental harm to the student learning process and increased equity gaps. On the other hand, hastily creating a top-down policy or tinkering without intentional strategy risks an endless cycle of effort with no impact—on top of risks to student learning. District leaders must shift their focus from merely trying to understand generative AI to proactively guiding how teachers and students use this technology to solve existing problems. This research will go beyond demystifying generative AI and provide district leaders with concrete examples of how to integrate generative AI in ways that don’t just save time, but truly transform the way teachers teach and students learn.

Building a High-Performance District

Over the past six years, we’ve studied how districts can tackle a wide range of current challenges; from raising reading scores to supporting mental health and strengthening teacher morale. Through those efforts, it’s become clear that some districts make faster progress on every issue, regardless of region or student demographics. What makes those districts different? Is there a blueprint for high performance that leaders can build from to transform what’s possible in their system? This session will present a series of deep-dive case studies profiling districts that have made outsized progress on today’s complex challenges, then show how lessons learned from those pioneering districts provide a blueprint for high performance that every district can build from. Partners will leave with:

  • EAB’s Blueprint for a High-Performance with supporting research for each component
  • An assessment instrument to evaluate your district’s alignment with EAB’s Blueprint for a High-Performance District
  • Real-world case studies of best practice to build from and discuss with your team
