Leading for Literacy
Thirty-two states and the District of Columbia have now passed laws or implemented new policies to promote evidence-based reading instruction. Professional development for teachers is a crucial first step, but research has shown that many districts are struggling to turn theory into practice. EAB’s four-month “Leading for Literacy” pathway equips district leaders to follow a proven playbook for implementing and sustaining science-based reading instruction in schools.
Engage in the four critical stages of the Collaborative:
1. Build a Shared Vision for Literacy
2. Establish District-level Requirements
3. Prepare Principals to Lead School-level Implementation
4. Ensure Teachers Have Agency Through the Change Process
By participating, district leaders will receive:
- Four, 90-minute working sessions
- Weekly Office Hours
- Every Resource Needed, Ready to Use
Sessions
