Agenda

Day One

‘Outside-In’ strategy: Driving economic and social impact and rearticulating the value of our institutions

Facing growing scepticism about the sector’s relevance, university leaders must do more to reorient their core institutional and academic strategy around social and economic impact. By embracing an outside-in approach that is anchored around the needs and priorities of key external constituencies, we will be best positioned to compete for future students, revenues, and public support. We’ll explore and hear from colleagues on how to:

  • Integrate next-generation skill development (e.g., AI) into the curriculum at scale
  • Drive real-world impact by scaling community-centric research and scholarship
  • Catalyse mutually beneficial economic development through cross-sector collaboration
  • Measure and articulate your impact on regional priorities

Day Two

Research preview: The new economics of international student recruitment

Help shape the next phase of EAB’s 2025 research initiative on how your institution can become more strategic with your international recruitment strategy. We’ll share early findings and ask your input on a number of topics:

  • Tracking costs of acquisition to evaluate trade-offs and maximise revenue
  • Managing ballooning bursary and scholarship costs
  • Developing and defining a healthy diversification strategy
  • Building institutional maturity to avoid chasing after “the next China”
Can organisational transformation save us?

It’s no surprise that, in today’s climate, institutions are looking at every page in the playbook to become leaner and more financially resilient. In this session, we will explore real-world case studies of universities that have successfully transformed tasks, roles, processes, and org charts to better deliver on their mission, discussing:

  • Institutional postures for using AI to unlock efficiency and savings
  • Senior leaders’ role in ensuring the success of transformations
  • How to empower teams with the tools to succeed
  • Maintaining momentum and focus in an era of competing priorities

Great to see you today! What can I do for you?
