Facilities leaders are exploring how artificial intelligence could reshape campus operations in the years ahead. While AI is already influencing areas like data management, space optimization, and energy monitoring, most institutions are still determining how to integrate these capabilities into their facilities strategies. This focused discussion looks ahead to what’s possible as AI tools mature, and how Facilities leaders can prepare for a more automated, connected, and intelligent campus environment.

As higher education leaders pursue financial resilience and sustainability goals, Facilities teams will play a central role in identifying where emerging technologies can help reduce costs, improve efficiency, and extend the life of existing infrastructure. Participants will also discuss practical questions that still need to be answered: What could AI mean for aging equipment or future capital planning? Can older assets be retrofitted to benefit from AI-enabled systems? And when is the right time to start planning for AI integration in long-range facilities strategy?

Participants will:

  • Explore the evolving landscape of AI applications in facilities and operations
  • Discuss what institutional readiness looks like for adopting AI tools over the next few years
  • Benchmark their institution’s current capabilities using EAB’s AI Maturity Curve for Facilities

This session is best suited for Vice Presidents of Facilities, Directors of Facilities Management, Senior Facilities Officers, and similar titles. Limited to two attendees per institution.
