Workforce Pell Grant Readiness Self-Diagnostic

The Workforce Pell Grant Readiness Self-Diagnostic helps institutional leaders assess their preparedness for emerging eligibility requirements and identify areas that may require additional attention. Organized around four core readiness factors, it highlights the foundational capabilities and program characteristics institutions should evaluate as they prepare for Workforce Pell implementation.

Review each readiness factor with the appropriate stakeholders across campus, including information technology, program leadership, workforce development, and student services leaders. For each question, assess whether your institution is ready, not yet ready, or awaiting further state guidance, and use the results to focus internal planning and discussion. Because several requirements remain subject to state interpretation, this diagnostic reflects current expectations rather than a definitive compliance checklist.

Explore four readiness questions

  • Are you ready to track and report required metrics?
  • Do your programs meet basic structural requirements?
  • Are your programs performing well and aligned with workforce needs?
  • Are you prepared to serve Workforce Pell students?
