Michael Fischer

Senior Director, Research

Michael Fischer is a Senior Director of Research, overseeing EAB’s Administration, Finance, and Operations research group. Michael works closely with Chief Business Officers, Chief Finance Officers, Chief Operations Officers, and Senior Facilities Officers to diagnose challenges and unearth best practices to improve the financial sustainability and operating efficiency of campuses. His research specialties include administrative efficiency, cost containment, building design trends, flexible work arrangements, and sustainability. He is also one of EAB’s lead researchers on the impact of Generative AI on institutional strategy.

Michael joined EAB in 2016, and has served in both research and advising roles at the firm. Prior to joining EAB, he held various educational positions in the United States and United Kingdom. Off-hours, he enjoys baking and tabletop games with his wife and two sons.
