About the Webconference

One of the most significant challenges to effective workforce development is integrating employers' workforce planning efforts with educators' curriculum planning efforts. Our task force—a collaboration of the White House, Advisory Board, and Hope Street Group—identified eight key lessons learned from progressive employers, community colleges, and workforce development groups that have made progress aligning workforce planning and curriculum planning on a regional level.

  • Why regional workforce development efforts should focus on today’s “usual suspects,” such as nursing assistants and medical assistants
  • Which competencies are most important for entry-level roles
  • How to take advantage of existing national and regional data sets to build a rough picture of local workforce needs—and then complement this quantitative snapshot with qualitative feedback
