Ryan Gardner-Cook, PhD
Associate Director, Strategic Research
Ryan is an experienced mixed-methods researcher in EAB’s Enrollment Services division, where he draws on his doctorate in anthropology to deliver data-driven insights for college enrollment leaders. By combining quantitative analysis with qualitative perspectives, he explores the underlying causes of enrollment trends, from shifting demographics to evolving student preferences. His work equips enrollment leaders with a deeper understanding of prospective students and actionable strategies to meet their needs.
Before joining EAB, Ryan conducted public policy research for governmental agencies in New York City, analyzing how demographic changes, social deprivation, transit access, and other built-environment factors impact community well-being. His academic research focused on how social structures and environmental dynamics influence the resilience of societies in the past and present through the lens of the earliest Bronze Age cities.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys mountain biking and channels his creativity into sewing costumes, running tabletop RPGs, experimenting with different cuisines, and brewing his own beer.
