Ryan Gardner-Cook

Associate Director, Strategic Research

Ryan is a seasoned mixed-methods researcher in EAB’s Enrollment Services division, drawing on his doctorate in anthropology to produce data-driven, in-depth content for college enrollment leaders. He combines quantitative analysis with qualitative insights to understand the variety of causes driving larger enrollment trends. Prior to joining EAB, Ryan conducted public policy research for several governmental agencies in New York, exploring the impacts that demographic change, social deprivation, transit access, and other aspects of the built landscape have on community wellbeing. In his academic career, he studied how social structures and environmental dynamics influence societal resilience in the past and present through the lens of the earliest Bronze Age cities.

In his free time, Ryan indulges in creative pursuits, from sewing costumes and running tabletop RPGs to experimenting with diverse cuisines and brewing his own beer.
