Community Impact at EAB

Empowering Our People to Strengthen Their Communities

At EAB, we believe our greatest impact happens when we give back—together. Our Community Impact vision is to empower every team member to make a meaningful difference in the communities where they live and work.

Angela Street

Having the opportunity to serve the DC, Maryland and Virginia unhoused population has allowed me to meet other professionals in the community and serve the people of the DMV who need our support most. I appreciate EAB’s commitment to making communities better and allowing employees to reserve time every month to serve others in our community.

What makes my volunteering experience extraordinary is working alongside the full-time staff and witnessing their love and dedication for the women who come through the shelter. Over time, you get to know these women—their personalities, their stories—and you begin to understand the profound impact they have on you as you walk with them through part of their journey.

Reflections on volunteering at a women’s shelter

At EAB, our commitment to community runs deep—and our partnership with Everybody Wins DC (EWDC) brings that commitment to life. What began with volunteers reading to students has grown into a multifaceted collaboration that champions literacy and expands opportunity.

EAB volunteers serve as mentors, donate books, support pro bono projects, and help stock little libraries to ensure every child has access to reading materials—no matter their zip code or circumstance. Their time, talent, and dedication help this small but mighty nonprofit thrive, bridging critical gaps and creating lasting impact.

This partnership is a testament to what’s possible when businesses and communities work hand in hand.

A Decade of Impact

EAB Named EWDC’s 2024 Community Champion

Each year, EWDC recognizes a special partner that is a true champion of the communities we serve. I am excited to share that this year’s Community Champion is none other than EAB, and we’d like to honor your commitment to EWDC at our annual Read to Dream event.

For over a decade, EAB team members have given their time to our students. You have served as mentors, hosted book drives, participated in special reading events, prepared books for distribution, written notes of encouragement, and delivered books to the community. Beyond this, EAB has provided critical in-kind and financial support that has kept our programs 100% free for families and schools. By giving your time and resources, you have made a direct and tangible impact within the community and we at EWDC are forever grateful.

Thank you for being a true Community Champion for children in need and we can’t wait to celebrate EAB at Read to Dream!

-Jordi Hutchinson, Executive Director, Everybody Wins DC

Great to see you today! What can I do for you?
