Special Session for Coast-To-Coast: 2025 Chief Advancement Officer Roundtable

Nov 18 – 19, 2025
Washington, D.C.

Please join us for our signature in-person roundtable for EAB’s Coast-To-Coast advancement leaders. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in highly interactive, executive-level conversations about the most pressing challenges facing advancement leaders today.

Agenda Highlights

During our time together, we’ll discuss the following topics. As this research is ongoing, some topics may be subject to change.

The State of Higher Ed Advancement: Navigating Financial, Political, and Demographic Pressures

  • Colleges and universities must rethink long-standing assumptions about funding and strategy. EAB research examines the pressures reshaping higher education advancement and considers philanthropy’s role and limitations in supporting institutional resilience.

Aligning Resources and Talent to Unlock Principal Gift Potential

  • Most advancement shops still treat principal gifts as one-off wins rather than a repeatable strategy. EAB research explores innovations in team design, portfolio ownership, and proposal strategy that make principal gifts a sustainable growth engine.

Six Trends Reshaping Pipeline Development

  • Gift pipelines are under pressure as donors expect more, teams are stretched thin, and traditional cultivation strategies fall short. EAB research has surfaced six emerging trends in pipeline strategy that advancement leaders are testing and adapting.

Prioritization Exercise: Confronting Risks and Making Strategic Trade-Offs

  • Advancement teams often lack the capacity to give their full attention to both building the future pipeline and securing top gifts. Participants will reflect on the trade-offs they’re making and identify strategies to balance near-term wins with long-term growth.
