Something—or someone—is different on campus. Higher ed leaders are seeing shifts in student mindsets and behaviors. Students are skeptical of the value of higher ed; mental health challenges are at an all-time high; and others are acting more like activist stakeholders, asking tough questions and making uncompromising critiques of institutional decisions and strategy.
Meet Generation Z. Actually, you’ve already met them. Born between 1997-2012, this highly-diverse generation of digital natives and college skeptics are already showing up on campus doorsteps and will constitute the majority of your student body for over a decade to come. Serving these students amid turbulent times will have implications on everything from financial aid strategy to mental health supports.
Sessions
In this EAB-facilitated session, learn about the five attributes of Gen Z that makes them different from every generation before them. Then, participate in an interactive scenario-planning exercise designed to help you think through the wide-ranging impacts of Gen Z across campus and how to connect with this new generation of students. This session is best suited for VPSAs and VPEMs. Registration for each session is limited to two attendees per institution.
