Edify Accelerators Series: Accelerating Insight to Action with Custom Analytics
Every area of an institution has specific needs and questions – but many lack the data to inform their work. In this series, we’ll walk through three Edify Accelerators, which are templatized and customizable analytics tailored to specific topics. Accelerator packages take advantage of the data organization and flexibility provided by Edify’s data model, helping institutions delve into topical areas of analysis.
This series will focus on the following topics: course planning, financial sustainability, and course success equity. In each session, our experts will provide an overview of an accelerator, give a live demonstration, and discuss ways in which the analytics can inform institutional strategy. Audience participation is encouraged throughout sessions.

In this session, attendees will learn about the Financial Sustainability Accelerator. The dashboard includes financial data points like expenses, revenues, and costs to enable leaders to attain the full picture, narrowing in on departmental and college costs. Leaders can use the data to identify insights across campus, prioritize areas of focus, and pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.

Session Three: Identifying Equity Gaps in Course Outcomes
Academic success is a key pillar of overall student success, yet many populations have historically been disadvantaged in this area. In this session, attendees will learn about the Course Success Equity Accelerator and Spartanburg Community College’s (SCC) experience. The dashboard includes data like, course outcomes, LMS activity, tutoring activity, and demographic data to enable student success and academic leaders to surface equity gaps in course outcomes. Leaders can investigate outcomes by student population and the impact of student behaviors and instructor demographics on success.
SCC’s Research and Development Team will share about their experience implementing the Course Success Equity Accelerator. With the new dashboards, SCC is considering courses and program DWFI rates and cumulative earned credit by demographic attributes and student populations. This data will be used to inform ad hoc research requests and a larger report that will be shared campus-wide detailing which student populations appear to be struggling at the institution.
