Greenlight Equity Collaborative Annual CBO Summits

There are no more upcoming sessions for this event.
Virtual

The CBO (Community Based Organizations/College Access Organizations) Summits create a virtual space where CBO leaders and Collaborative members can engage in insightful discussions, reflection, and networking. Our Equity Collaborative is dedicated to nurturing impactful relationships with Greenlight CBO communities, while uniting in the mission to support underrepresented students in their pursuit of higher education. By doing so, we equip ourselves to take bold, proactive, and adaptive steps in addressing the enrollment challenges faced by both students and educational institutions.

Summit One

Engaging the Future: Extending the College Access Pipeline – Nov 7

The path to college readiness begins well before students reach their high school years. Recognizing the growing importance of involving younger students in discussions about higher education and career planning, this event brings together Community Based Organization (CBO) leaders to share their experiences. The conversation will focus on the evolving perspectives of middle school students regarding college, strategies for enhancing family engagement, and the critical role of mental health awareness in shaping students’ academic journeys.

Summit Two

The Role of High School Counselors: Adapting to Shifting College Admission Trends – Nov 19

This past spring, EAB conducted a survey to better understand the vital role counselors play in helping students navigate both in-class and out-of-class challenges, with a focus on college access. During this summit, we will review key findings from the survey, share best practices, and explore insights from experienced student counseling professionals on how to enhance student support amid the evolving landscape of college admissions.
