Strategy Spotlight: How East Carolina University Is Improving Their Transfer Student Experience (Part I)
Partner Event
This session is the first of two Strategy Spotlights focused on process mapping. We’ll be joined by East Carolina University (ECU). ECU is a four-year regional public university located in Greenville, North Carolina. Like many institutions, ECU sought to reduce gaps in student outcomes among their transfer students. By partnering with the EAB Moon Shot for Social & Economic Mobility, Transfer Portal, and Strategic Advisory Services Teams, ECU conducted a thorough process mapping of their transfer student experience. They identified several improvement opportunities, including enhancing the credit articulation process, increasing institutional knowledge about transfers, and promoting greater adoption of their Transfer Portal platform to engage prospective students. In this session, ECU leaders will share about their experience, their learnings, and what they have planned next to grow their transfer enrollment and support their transfer students.
Attendees will:
- Hear directly from ECU leaders about their transfer student experience mapping process
- Understand how ECU prioritized improvement opportunities based on level of impact and complexity
- Learn about ECU’s Transfer Portal promotion plan, which has allowed them to achieve high Portal utilization early in their partnership, generate 2,497 student inquiries, digital ads being seen over 1.5 million times, and more
- Have opportunities to ask questions in the session
