EAB’s 2026 Insights Series is an opportunity for our Australian and New Zealand partners to convene, learn, and discuss issues facing the sector. We’ll share some of EAB’s latest research, and you (and any colleagues) can come to discuss and debate. We’ll update you with the session topic about a month in advance, and you can forward on the invites to relevant colleagues.

  • Rethinking Competition and Opportunity Markets in International Recruitment: This session offers an early look at new Global Trends research alongside an in-development, custom International Recruitment Data Tool. We will explore how universities should be rethinking competitors and opportunity markets in international student recruitment, and show how the tool supports real decisions by helping teams assess current and potential priority markets and make sharper calls on where to focus next

  • Re-engaging School Leavers: How Student Pathways into Tertiary Study Are Changing: Recent data shows 63% of people aged 15-24 are currently studying, while many others are pursuing work or other pathways after school. For institutions, that means the traditional school-leaver pipeline no longer captures the full picture of student intent. Institutional leaders need a clearer understanding of what shapes post-school decision-making. This session explores the factors influencing entry into tertiary study, including changing student expectations and engagement patterns. Leaders will leave with practical strategies to respond through stronger messaging, more efficient admissions activity, and recruitment strategies that extend beyond the traditional cycle.
