What EAB’s 2025 State of the Sector Means for Facilities Leaders
Partner Event
Facilities leaders are operating in a moment where long-standing pressures around space, deferred maintenance, and operating costs have intensified, while expectations for efficiency, transparency, and resilience are rising quickly. Financial strain, enrollment volatility, and heightened scrutiny of institutional spending are already reshaping how campuses think about space utilization, capital investment, and long-term sustainability.
This session will begin with a brief recap of key State of the Sector insights to ground the conversation. From there, the discussion will focus on how facilities leaders are responding now and where timely adjustments can have the greatest institutional impact.
This session is designed as a candid, peer-driven conversation centered on questions facilities leaders are actively addressing, including:
- How financial sustainability pressures are accelerating scrutiny of space utilization and capital planning
- Where deferred maintenance, energy costs, and compliance requirements are creating near-term risk
- Which facilities decisions most often require stronger visibility and framing for cabinet and board audiences
- How Facilities leaders are partnering with finance and academic leadership to support institutional priorities
Participants will hear how peers are approaching shared challenges, what is working across different institutional contexts, and how facilities leaders are translating insight into action.
