Old Dominion University (ODU) has worked to encourage a culture of data-driven decision making. However, the data needed to make decisions was not always available to academic leaders.
Upon joining the Academic Performance Solutions cohort, ODU was able to quickly involve department chairs in the budgeting process, enhancing transparency and collaboration around determining top priorities.
As a result, ODU academic leaders were able to work together to shift faculty lines between departments based on need, prioritize hiring based on course completion trends, and develop longer-term plans across departments.
