Guiding Intentional Academic Decisions

Wednesday, Dec 11, 2024
This session highlights practices that encourage students to explore their interests, map out their educational plans, and utilize career services throughout the first semester.

About the Webconference

Community college student onboarding processes often attempt to compress new students’ educational planning to a few hours before the first day of class. This forces students to make quick, and often times random decisions, about crucial details in their academic careers. This type of planning results in excess credits, misaligned course enrollments, and delayed time to graduation. This webconference session highlights practices that encourage students to explore their interests, map out their educational plans, and utilize career services throughout the first semester.
