Traditional program review, which occurs every few years, provides leaders with an infrequent look at program health and allows for the misalignment of institution and program-level goals to go unmonitored. To better evaluate program health, leaders can implement annual reviews of programs as a strategic tool, integrating data on academic quality, student demand, and resource utilization to improve the economics of challenged programs and prioritize programs for investment and expansion.
In the last session of the Responding to COVID-19: Harnessing APS Data and EAB Best Practices webinar series, we share how to launch annual reviews, provide program leaders with guidance to support improvement or growth, strategically deploy resources to support program redesign, and minimize disruptions in the sunsetting process.
