Transfer Strategy Spotlight Series
The Transfer Strategy Spotlight Series consists of five interactive sessions. This series provides individuals in various roles across campus with opportunities to hear directly from and on behalf of partner institutions to learn about tested and successful practices and consider how these practices can be carried out on their own campuses. Attendees can engage with other attendees in live conversation during each session.

Wichita State University and University of San Francisco: Improving Awareness for Your Transfer Program with Effective Marketing Materials
An up-to-date transfer website, marketing materials, and communications provide prospective transfer students with the information they desire when they need it. These materials can affect their student journey – and make or break their experience with your institution. But when used effectively, these materials can create awareness for your transfer program and Transfer Portal. In this session, we’ll be joined by two guest partner speakers who will share actionable strategies they implemented to best support students in this area.

University of Houston, Clear Lake: Enhancing the Student Experience with Transfer Advising Services
The transfer student’s journey into your institution can be a complex one to navigate, often compared to a winding road with multiple points of entry, exit, or pause. For university staff, these students often need extra support to answer core questions in their transfer decision and early onboarding steps like, how many of their credits will transfer, how those credits will apply to their degree, and how much it will cost in the first year and beyond. In this session, we’ll share how the University of Houston, Clear Lake created an Office of Transfer Advising to aid in these student conversations with prospective and new students.

In this session, we’ll learn about University of Massachusetts Amherst’s process for creating and maintaining effective articulation agreements to best serve students and streamline the transfer process.

Winthrop University: Forming Community College Partnerships and Transfer Pathways
Strong partnerships with community colleges build transfer pathways to your institution. Institutions can build these pathways by identifying potential community college partners and entering formal partnership agreements, as well as coordinating materials, communications, and processes. In this session, we’ll share how Winthrop University formed a strong partnership with York Technical College to strengthen their transfer pipeline.
