The intensive supports your successful transition into the role by creating a community of fellow new leaders and highlighting resources for ongoing support.

Deep-dive sessions with tenured and former provosts and workshops on institutional strategy, future thinking, trends across the higher education sector, and more.
Virtual Sessions | Thursdays from July 2 through July 30, 1:00-3:00 p.m. ET
Weekly two-hour sessions led by sector experts and peer provosts, with time for reflection, discussion, and strategic planning.

A Program Designed for the First-Year Provost
Stepping into the provost role means navigating high expectations, institutional complexity, and a growing list of cross-functional responsibilities. EAB’s New Provosts Intensive (NPI) is a curated program built to support academic leaders in their first year with:
- Actionable frameworks to address academic and operational priorities
- Peer-tested strategies from sitting and former provosts
- Data and insights drawn from EAB’s research and 2,500+ partner institutions
- A confidential community for shared learning and reflection on the provostship
Since its launch in 2020, more than 250 provosts have participated in EAB’s New Provosts Intensive (NPI), building lasting networks and sharpening their leadership approach.

- Interim provosts
Cost and Commitment
There is no fee to participate in the New Provosts Intensive. However, we ask participants to attend at least four of the seven sessions to preserve the integrity of the cohort experience.
