Following our 2017 Keeping Faculty on the Leading Edge research, the Independent School Executive Forum is pleased to offer a four-part webconference series across the spring. This series highlights best practices for creating a culture of faculty excellence and growth at independent schools. We have designed these sessions to help you and key members of your team keep your faculty consistently on the leading edge.
Past Events In Series
Part IV: Designing a Comprehensive Process for Continued Faculty Growth
Integral to your faculty’s success is a complete, coherent system for faculty growth and development. Our final session will feature leaders from University Prep to discuss the creation and implementation of the school’s Individualized Teaching Improvement Plan. Learn how your team can also create a similar complete system and generate faculty buy-in.
Part III: Building Instructional Coaching Capacity and Effectiveness to Foster Faculty Growth
This session will highlight the benefits of coaching and existing coaching resources available to schools.
Part II: Creating Active, Collaborative Faculty Professional Development Opportunities
The second installment of the series will discuss problems with typical faculty professional development. Administrators at Georgetown Day School will join EAB to provide an in-depth description of their active learning-based professional development model and how it exhibits characteristics of effective professional development.
Part I: Adopting Principles of Teaching Excellence and Developing a Principles-Based Hiring System
The inaugural session of the series will provide an overview of EAB’s research process and introduce our Keeping Faculty on the Leading Edge study. The session will also focus on principles of teaching excellence and how your school can develop a principles-based hiring process.
