Summary This research explores the structure and logistics of dropout recovery programs at alternative education campuses. Specifically, it addresses dropout recovery program instruction and acceleration methods, support services, admissions, and assessment, among other topics. Key observations from our research 1. Set goals and administer rewards to encourage students to complete credits. 2. Offer dropout recovery program students support services during the school day to address academic and behavioral at-risk indictaors. 3.Provide dropout recovery program teachers with professional development opportunities specific to at-risk student instruction. 4.Use state-wide assessment data, graduation rate, dropout rate, attendance rate, and students’ post-graduate plans to evaluate dropout recovery programs.
