Districts are facing two alarming trends in math learning: as more students show foundational math skill gaps, students already behind are not catching up—and most fall further behind each year. EAB’s latest research study dives into what makes math so fundamentally different from other core subjects—and why the current approach to improving student math performance should be fundamentally different as well.

District leaders will learn which instructional decisions will move the dial in math, including how to build a math-focused skill recovery system and equip teachers with the tools and training they need to teach math confidently and effectively.
