Competitive Intelligence for Enrollment Leaders
The nation’s colleges and universities are facing unprecedented financial stress, due to a historic convergence of cost increases and revenue reductions. Enrollment leaders are finding themselves on the front lines of the battle, due to the widespread belief that the the quickest and “easiest” way for schools to right themselves financially is by increasing tuition revenue—which, in today’s price-sensitive environment, relies mostly on enrolling more students.
Given the dwindling number of college-goers nationally, enrolling more students increasingly means looking to populations and geographies that historically existed outside the boundaries of our respective schools’ prospect pools—populations which, not incidentally, have traditionally “belonged” to other institutions. Put this all together and you get the hypercompetitive higher education marketplace we see today.
