Partner Event
Join EAB’s annual Executive Roundtable for Chief Information Officers in Washington, D.C., for a unique opportunity to engage in dynamic, peer-driven discussions with fellow higher education technology leaders. This exclusive event brings together CIOs and equivalent executives to explore emerging challenges, share innovative strategies, and discuss the evolving role of technology in advancing institutional goals.
2026 attendees praised the roundtable for delivering strategic insights, actionable ideas, and fresh perspectives they could immediately apply on their campuses:
- “The discussions on the evolving role of IT and the CIO were spot on. I left with a stronger perspective on how technology leadership needs to evolve to meet the challenges ahead.”
- “I was able to learn from peers in the room and take action items back to my institution that will help us tackle key challenges—or at least reframe how we’re thinking about them.”
- “Every time I attend, I leave with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and practical strategies that help shape conversations and decisions on my campus.”

Agenda Preview
The days of discussing AI’s potential and treating singular pilots as proof are quickly coming to an end. As such, this year’s CIO Roundtable will focus on three urgencies confronting higher education technology leaders: guiding successful agentic AI implementations that demonstrate communicable ROI; integrating IT, data, and AI governance across institutional boundaries; and an evolving threat landscape that requires CIOs to strengthen readiness and communicate risk more effectively to senior leaders and boards. CIOs will examine what successful implementation looks like, how peers are adapting staffing and governance models, and which questions should move onto leadership agendas.
Through higher education case studies, peer discussion, and practical exercises – including an AI ROI portfolio evaluation activity – CIOs will translate each urgency into decisions for their own institutions. Participants will leave with a methodology for prioritizing AI use cases, examples of staffing investments, models for integrated oversight, and board-ready approaches for communicating urgency, risk, and what success looks like.
