Achieve More with Less
A Critical Moment for Public Education
Public schools are under pressure from all sides. Enrollment is shrinking. Teacher shortages are growing. And confidence in K-12 education has dropped to its lowest point in decades. Across the country, district leadership teams are being asked to lead through uncertainty, deliver results for students, and sustain community confidence in the value of public education — often under intense scrutiny and with fewer resources than before. Superintendents now face an unfortunate but necessary question: “How can we achieve more with less?”
Achieve More, Together
The District Leadership Forum is a nationwide network of district leaders, researchers, and education experts committed to helping superintendents and their teams get further, faster, together. With funding cuts, legislative restrictions, and public concerns all on the rise, we are launching a new program to engage as many districts as possible in work to build the foundations for success: the Achieve More Cohort.
Our goal for the Achieve More Cohort is simple: to strengthen district leadership teams with the tools, strategies, and peer support they need to make tangible improvements they can stand behind with their board and community. We want to strengthen confidence in public education by demonstrating that today’s schools are ready to achieve more, together.
Where Our Districts Are Making Progress
-
Getting Kids Back in the Classroom
Johnson Middle School’s chronic absenteeism rate has declined by more than half since the start of the 2023-2024 school year.
-
Restoring Teacher Retention
Ogden School District significantly improved their 20% annual employee turnover and entered the school year fully staffed.
-
Making Progress on Strategic Initiatives
Bethlehem Area School District applied a consistent, strategic framework to tackle its biggest priorities and challenges, including absenteeism, learning loss, and literacy.
-
Closing Early Literacy Gaps
Republic School District launched a science-aligned reading program that led to a 15-point gain in rhyme recognition—and is now expanding the approach to first grade and beyond.
