Elevating the role of faculty in transformational change

Use the following checklist to determine if you are fostering the right environment for a faculty-led transformation on your campus.

Too often, internal stakeholders—especially faculty—are cast as barriers to strategic transformation, rather than catalysts of change. As a result, these efforts are minimally effective and fail to drive long-term action.

In fact, our research uncovered that lack of faculty engagement is one of the biggest failure paths in colleges’ Guided Pathways implementation. We wanted to understand how to flip the script on the roles we ask faculty to play and leverage their unique perspectives and experiences to inform college initiatives.

To do this, we must reframe our approach to strategy-setting, specifically focusing on plugging the right people in at the right time. Use the following checklist to determine if you are fostering the right environment for a faculty-led transformation on your campus.
