Key observations from our research Profiled schools implement two distinct salary increase models within banded, performance-based compensation systems.Use multiple, varied types of evidence to measure faculty performance holistically.To improve salary system financial sustainability, require faculty to complete long-term projects to advance bands.To transition salary bands, ask faculty to develop a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates achievement in all band criteria.
