In this webinar, EAB experts outline our view on what the defining hallmarks and behaviors of an anti-racist institution are and how to promote racial justice in education.

The 18 fellows in the 2020 Rising Higher Education Leaders Fellowship cohort tackled a wide range of issues in their capstone projects, reflecting the diversity of institutions and professional experiences of the participants. Several fellows deeply examined student success at their institutions, specifically focusing on equity issues. Others made recommendations for improving campus sustainability, building stronger online programs, and adjusting graduate tuition rates.

In terms of higher education at large, if our campuses are aligning our academic programs with institutional values and goals, then our graduates will be equipped for 21st century citizenship. Additionally, the concepts of knowledge sharing and evidence-based academic planning will allow for targeted resource investment in the academic experience with the end goal being an enhanced overall value of the degree.

At EAB, we are partnering with regional cohorts of community colleges and four-year institutions in our Moon Shot for Equityinitiativeto close equity gaps in their region by 2030. While the evolution of strategic planning has continued, so too has the lack of strategic execution. Two primary reasons why strategic plans fail are an organization’s lack of commitment and vision or failure to identify and measure appropriate metrics of success.
