As uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 continues into the fall semester, we can’t rely on our typical playbook to engage our constituents. Advancement teams need to deliver effective events in a virtual environment or risk losing donor and alumni mindshare when it comes to hosting virtual events like homecoming.

Preview the virtual event considerations checklist below to make sure your virtual fundraising events are engaging, inclusive, and impactful opportunities or download the checklist as a PDF. Consider using the PDF yourself or sending it to a colleague on your team that is responsible for virtual events.

Considerations: Has a specific outcome been chosen for the event? Has it been decided how attendees will ideally feel after the event? Is there a specific action attendees should be ready to take after the event?

Have the recruitment platforms been decided (e.g. social media, alumni relations website, local and regional organizations)? Has a hook for event attendance been formed? Has a list of targeted participants been created?
