The Advancement Forum’s Gift Officer Metrics Tracker helps gift officers stay on track toward short and long-term goals. The workbook highlights roadblocks in cultivation to jumpstart conversations about moving prospects forward and identifies when gift officers are behind on their goals so that they can shift strategy.

The tabs of the workbook separate goals into immediate, actionable items in the “Short-Term Goals” tab and progress toward quarterly and annual goals in the “Long-Term Goals” tab. Consider having gift officers update the Metrics Tracker on a weekly or biweekly basis.

Below is a description of each tab and its components. If at any point you or a team member require assistance with the tool, please contact your Strategic Leader.

In this tab, gift officers will plan donor movement across the next month. This serves as a one-stop-shop for gift officers to align their activities with their goals and for managers to monitor progress and provide input as necessary.

Specific Moves this Month: Plan which donors to meet with across the next month and categorize the type of meeting from qualification to solicitation. Target Ask Date and Moves to Ask: Estimate the number of moves to be made before the solicitation to assess if the timeline is achievable. Roadblocks to Success: Flag current or potential challenges in engaging specific donors to create a record of the situation and get manager input or support.
