Process Improvement Primer

Who should use it: Process improvement teams, process improvement coordinators, project sponsors

When to use it: This resource has three parts. The first section, the Process Improvement Playbook, provides a detailed step-by-step guide to improving a single process on campus. The second section includes resources to help a process improvement coordinator secure greater stakeholder engagement.

The third section is a compendium of real-life process improvement success stories, useful for generating buy-in and understanding how common problems and solutions have played out on campuses.

Leader’s Guide to Enacting Process Improvement

Who should use it: Less experienced process improvement coordinators, process improvement teams

When to use it: An institution’s first few process improvement projects are important to get right to build momentum and a culture of continuous improvement. However, it can be challenging to identify and jumpstart these early projects. Use the framework and questions in this guide to brainstorm the initial stakeholders, process opportunities, and success metrics necessary to start your institution’s process improvement efforts on the right path.
