Teacher Morale-Booster Compendium

This toolkit is part of the Teacher Morale Resource Center, which includes EAB resources to help school districts improve teacher morale. This compendium aligns with the “co-design solutions” section of the morale momentum loop.

EAB’s Teacher Morale Booster Compendium provides more than 25 proven strategies to combat low teacher morale. The strategies are divided into six major threat areas, providing an organized way for teachers and district leaders to begin workshopping and co-designing solutions specific to their district. The compendium includes a description of each strategy, a note on the main issues it can address, and an estimate on complexity and resource-intensiveness.

How to use the Morale-Booster Compendium to facilitate conversation with teachers

  1. Use strategies for inspiration

Share two to four district leader-selected strategies to workshop with teachers to avoid silence during solution brainstorming.

  2. Vote on promising strategies

Ask teachers to vote on top strategies for prioritized threat areas to avoid too much noise or unproductive ideas.

  3. Ask for specific input

Ask teachers to answer specific questions on chosen strategies so district leaders can refine them.
