Many educators feel ill-equipped to recognize signs and symptoms of trauma and manage students’ resulting social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in a supportive way. This resource provides a guide with accompanying templates to help districts plan for and implement trauma-informed practice.

The ten strategies in this toolkit provide district teams with a structured approach for school-based mental health supports, forming the foundations of a “population health management” model that will improve outcomes for students and reduce strain on district staff and resources.

Students are under high levels of stress thanks to a variety of internal and external factors. This toolkit addresses four ways superintendents can support student mental health and includes seven templates and customizable resources.
